Lots of crafty bits and pieces
Thank you Aija you are a star.

Aija also nominated me for this blog award and I am supposed to pass it forward to 5 more

Warning! never leave your back door open

Or you just might get
more than you bargain for....

 Tom the lodger...

This little fella belongs to my neighbour but he seems to have taken up residence in my lounge.

How did this start? and you might well ask!

Last Thursday he found his way into my garden - He seemed to be enjoying the peace and quiet as his little lady friend had just delivered 5 babies and things were a little noisy at home.  I made the mistake of befriending him and sitting chatting to him while hanging out my washing (hanging out washing in February - never been known before) anyway I digress....he is such a lovely cat even though he does tend to chase the birds and on one occasion got lucky with a pigeon (but I won't hold that against him)we became buddies but he has never come into the house before.  I left the back door open while doing some chores and when I came down stairs I got such a shock to see him all curled up and having 40 winks.... Oh well I suppose I better go and 'chuck' him out now or his mum will think he has run away with the circus....

Enjoy this lovely early spring weather and I do believe lambing has started early so pray we don't get a cold snap.

Enjoy the rest of your week - and remember keep those doors closed.

Take care, keep safe, well and happy

Art Exchange and Ducks!

If you remember a couple of weeks ago I spoke of an Art Exchange that I had joined and here are the lovely items I received from my exchange partner Sheena pink pearl necklace

This lovely pink crochet scarf/collar (although with today's temperature it could be a while before I wear it) but lovely all the same.

Red cute beret - Some people are just so clever.

Speaking of warmer days - My friend who is a keen photographer and I went out for a walk round our local Nature Park during last week and thought we would feed the ducks. Oh boy were they hungry, I have never got up close and personal with Canada Geese before and they are a scary bunch - A couple could have been given an ASBO they were so cheeky.

'What you got in your bag missus?'

'Race you - bags first crust!'

'Got an itch - Ah that's better!'

If the papers are to believed and we do get a wonderful Spring then Spring Cleaning can wait - I for one will be off out to feed the ducks - best take a body guard though....

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and see you back here real soon.

Take care, keep safe, be happy....

I did it.....

I did it....

Did what? ....

You ask.....

I sold a dress from my shop - You good ladies must have been sending me good Karma because no sooner had I posted on my blog for your advice on my shop and if you thought I should change anything then I actually sold a dress.  I was silly I removed the dress from my photos folder so I cannot show the actual dress but if you go back to my archives you will see it was that lovely green psychedelic 70s dress with the lovely pointed collar.

I was so over the moon I did a little celebration dance - now that was a sight to behold.

I just thought I would let you know the good news and also if anyone out there is feeling despondent about goals not being met then trust me hang on in there say a prayer and miracles do happen.

Another reminder of the upcoming fair in Bolton on the 4th march you will find me and my vintage loving friends with our history and nostalgia having a ball.

Until next time

Keep safe, well and happy

Made to exchange

Elizabeth's Attic
Needs your help!!!!

Help! It is just two weeks to the third Bolton Vintage Fair and I am all of a dither I cannot keep up with the sewing when life throws curve balls my way.  So do I concentrate on selling by the monthly vintage fairs or do I concentrate on my shop?

As you know late last year I made my way into the unknown and opened a shop on line Elizabeth's Attic and now I need your help and advice.  Although I do quite well with selling on eBay things have been 'shall we say' rather slow on the shop front.  I have had teething problems and I know there is a lot to learn but could you kind ladies go to the shop (via the link) at some point and have a browse round then get back to me with your comments either by my blog or by the email link on the shop front.  Do you think it is set out right, are the colours OK do I need better photos and more in depth descriptions - anything you can offer will be gratefully received.

Now for my exciting news - I have been paired up with a lovely lady by the name of Sheena, from Stoke on Trent in a 'Made to Exchange' swap (another curve ball but a welcome one) and I have to make up and send a parcel with something I have made - now I know she will not be expecting a 'Horrocks' inspired dress but I will make and send her something vintage and personal just for Sheena.  It is quite a while since I was in a swap/exchange and I am quite excited to see what transpires.  I first met Aija through swapping and we have been emailing ever since, that was two years ago.  It is surprising how blogging can bring people into your life who you never get to meet in the natural but still become great friends.

Well ladies I suppose I better get cracking those seams won't sew themselves.

So until next time - Take care, Keep safe, Be Happy

Tulle 50s underskirt

Pink Tulle and a little bit of imagination

I had no idea on how to make an underskirt for my
Horrocks inspired dresses
So out came the scissors and a little bit of imagination
and away I went....

I did google a bit and decided that the best thing would be to make a band
ruffle the tulle into two layers

Being under 5ft 2inches means too full a skirt would make me look like
a cup-cake so just two layers.

The finished skirt was not too bad for a first

This is my next project - the top with the sleeves.

Hey Ginger do you think she can see us?

If I can't see her she can't see me! - 'Oh you are a funny black cat, don't you know anything? These humans are a push over for a a ginger tom like me.....'

Enjoy your weekend - keep nice and warm - See you back here next week.
